Here's what some folks have been saying about Stone Mountain Pet Lodge…
| Suzanne Hoyt, Lodging Customer, June 2008 |
"Stone Mountain is WONDERFUL!!!! My parents live in Denver and they boarded their Goldens for a week at what they thought was a reputable kennel. However, both dogs became sick from neglect. My cousin boarded their Newfoundlands for a week one had to be rushed to the ER for poor treatment at the facilities that their dogs were boarded.
Because we travel a lot I cannot tell you what a relief it is to be able to leave my beautiful dog in your very capable and loving hands. Your facility is wonderfully maintained and your handlers are top notch (especially Janette). I know Gunnar is happy there and that he has many friends."
Thanks to all for taking care of my Gunnar.

"My wife Linda & I enrolled our Border
Collie mix "Lady" in
Pam Paulick's 3 week recall class 6/10-6/17-6/24.
After a lot of obedience, agility & disc dog training,
the one thing Lady lacked and I needed direction on
was recall. Pam's teaching technique was so upbeat
and positive, we started improvements after the 1st
session.
After 3 sessions working with Lady has improved,
as well as Lady's quality of life. We have a
lot of praise for Pam & highly recommend this class
as a very important part of handler, dog training. "
Thanks again,
John, Linda Hurt & "Lady" |

"We brought our little morkie, Samson, in for
his first puppy groom and were absolutely amazed at
how well Pam Paulick did grooming him. He looks just
adorable. I was very nervous about anybody grooming
him and she did an amazing job. We will definitely
be going back to her."

"This was Samson's first grooming and the gal
did AMAZING!!!! He looks so handsome!
We have had terrible experiences at the vet and other places that we take Samson, but this was GREAT!!
We will continue to come back and to refer people to you!
The gal who cut his hair took the time to brush him out and it's obvious she is a wonderful employee!! Thank you!!! Not to mention your place ROCKS! I was getting hungry looking at the dog treats that look like cookies!"

"I was having seconds thoughts about leaving
our lab Remington at a dog kennel. My husband and
I were given a tour of your facility and was very
impressed.
The people are very friendly and courteous, the
facility where the dogs are at are wonderful and
there is no "doggy kennel smell" this
is not a kennel, but a hotel as i see it for your
pet and it is great.
Our dog was a little scared being this was his
first time, but the person that gave us the tour
on Sunday 3/9, (I wish I had her name) made him
feel at home, he even gave her kisses! I spoke
with a Amanda and another gal that Friday to make
sure everything was ok, he did well, so we are
looking forward to a couple of more day lodges
before the night lodging comes up.
Thanks for taking care of our baby, and being
great doggy babysitters. If you remember Remington
(Remy for short) he is the one that has to hold
his leash."

he received at Stone Mountain. The facilities are top notch and the people are even better."
Thanks!! Pat and Patty Casey |

I just wanted to thank you for helping us today. You were helping Pam plan her runs, she and I were walking them together. Each of us trying to figure out what our dogs would do with the crosses. I was questioning my plan when I we were behind you and Sizzle in Snooker. You two breezed through the run just as I had planned it in my head. So we went with it.
WOW that was the best run Mikko has ever had! He even worked ahead of me and finished beautifully. We all had so much fun watching Sizzle this weekend. She was awesome!! You two are quite the team for us to learn from.
Thanks again,
Joan, Coby, and Mikko

Michelle,
Carly did very well this past weekend. I was so worried. The first run was the Full House. Carly set Scout down to get ready and he looked at her and then took off as to say I can't believe you took my collar off and I have this whole area to run. And that is exactly what he did. He ran around the arena and then proceeded to mark in the back by the big horse door.
Carly finally got him corralled. I thought for sure she would get very frustrated and not want to go out again but she said it was her fault and that she did not start him at the line like she should. After that she got 2–1/2s and 2 first and 1 second. It was a learning experience. She would of gotten 3 first but on the Jackpot she had a much faster time but had one less point than the first place winner.
I was very proud of her. We only had one lady that voiced her disgust that Scout was ruining the trial rout and that Cary did not know how to handle her dog. She did come up to me to say that she did very well after the competition. That was nice. Thanks for all your help. We will not be at class on Wednesday but Carly want to show you her ribbons next week.

Dear Staff,
We thank you for taking such good care of us last weekend. It was our first time away from our homes. We had such fun with all the "Big" dogs-even "Monster," the great Dane, next to us-kept an eye on us. Thanks for all the hugs, walks, treats & most all-the good report cards we took home.

My
dog Lily stayed at Stone Mountain last week. I love
her report card, and she seemed very happy and looked
great after her bath and pedicure. I love all the
natural light in the kennel, and her ability to go
outside, where she loves to be. Also, you seemed
to have cured her of her bath anxiety. Normally,
I have to literally chase her around the house pick
her up place her in the tub. Last night (the day
after we brought Lily back home) I was drawing a
bath for my son, and Lily comes bounding in and jumped
in the tub, and gave me a look like "Ok, wash
me up!". I was so surprised, I just stood there,
so she jumped out, walked around in a circle, and
jumped back in. This happed 3 times while I called
the rest of the family in to gaze at this wondrous
event. Not sure what you did, but thank you so much!! |

Dear [Stone Mountain Pet Lodge],
Thank you very much for Stone Mountain's donations totaling $195.44 to Basset Buddies Rescue, Inc. for the First Aid Day and Wash-A-Thon events. These donations help offset expenses of homeless basset hounds while in foster care.
This year to date, 100 BBR bassets have been placed in their "forever" homes. Your generosity in helping the hounds is greatly appreciated!
Sincerely,
Basset Buddies Rescue, Inc.

We wanted you to know how much we love the Pre-agility classes. Our one year old Cairn terrier, Chloe, loves the fun! It is helping her with the obedience training, but in a fun way! Here are some photos to share! |
| Crush's Story, June 2007 |
Crush
came to stay with us in June. He had stayed with us
in the past and captured all of our hearts. The evening
he was dropped off, Nancy noticed that he seemed to
be spending more time than usual in his litter box,
and was more vocal than typical. She then saw that
he was straining to urinate. Crush's owner was notified
and he was brought into the emergency clinic where
he was diagnosed with a blockage and treated. The emergency
clinic let the owner know that we caught it really
early. Crush is doing great now, and is back to his
usual sweet self!
"Thank you so much for taking such awesome care of [Crush]!"

| Spur's Story, May 2007 |
Spur and his brother came in to stay with us in May. Spur is a bit of a special needs dog due to his pacemaker. His mom was apprehensive in leaving her boys with us, but after being assured that we would take good care of them, she said goodbye and started her own vacation. She gave us a call to check on them a couple of hours later and they were doing just fine. Each was resting comfortably in their suite and enjoying going outside to their private runs. Later in the afternoon they were taken outside to go on their walk.
Jeanette noticed that Spur was walking slower than usual, and then he laid down on the trail. The first thought that came to mind was a problem with his pacemaker. Jeanette contacted Spur’s mom who cut her vacation short and was coming home. About 5 minutes later she noticed that Spur’s stomach was larger and very tense. His mom was contacted again and we brought him immediately to the emergency clinic where he was diagnosed with bloat and brought into surgery. After a couple of tense hours we got the great news…Spur had made it through surgery and expected to make a complete recovery! The emergency clinic informed the owner that we caught it really early. Now, about 1 week later, Spur is doing well. We’re told he grew quite accustomed to the hamburger & rice diet he was on during his recovery, and will hold off eating until he’s positive he’s not getting any! We’re thrilled to have such a happy ending to this story and look forward to seeing them again!
"Our dog Spur is alive today because of Stone Mountain Pet Lodge. When Spur developed bloat, Stone Mountain staff immediately diagnosed the problem and rushed him to the emergency clinic. The quick response saved Spur's life. Because he was in surgery within an hour of being diagnosed, he did not develop any further complications. Spur is a part of our family and we really appreciate everything Stone Mountain did for him.
Thank you."

Both dogs came home without anxiety and looked gorgeous!
Laz has always had sore, red skin before from other
groomers, but was not either from this visit. My
big boy, Lazarus, promptly "decorated" your
lobby with poo when we were arrived, and your staff
cleaned it up cheerfully. Thanks!
For the same price as a local pet superstore, my
dogs were groomed beautifully, professionally, and,
obviously, courteously. They both truly enjoyed their
treat bags as well. Brandy was so patient with
my rowdy Samoyed's. We WILL be back! Thanks so much
for such great service! |

As a newly-married couple, and each never having
a pet of our own, my husband and I had several questions
after welcoming our puppy, Ruben, to our home in January.
We wanted to ensure we were caring for Ruben correctly,
and your staff and puppy classes have been extremely
helpful in caring for our little guy. Ruben joined
the February puppy kindergarten class and has learned
so much in such a short amount of time... Pam and your
staff has been wonderful with helping us to know what
to buy and how to properly teach him new concepts.
Ruben had his first two haircuts at your facility already,
and has looked great each time. We thank your staff
for their ongoing assistance! Ruben will be back soon
for his next trim...
Thanks again, Mark and Angela |

Hi Michelle,
This is Django's mom. I wanted to thank you for the wonderful time we had at Puppy Kindergarten. I think that a lot of the training is for the humans and not so much for the dogs! We intend to take more training classes in the future. I really thought the handouts each week were very helpful in reminding us what to do and the correct way to do it.
Django, Ed and I hope to see you in the future. |

Hello,
I just wanted to thank you for turning the light bulb
on for Stella! She is now doing "down" on
command with no movement from me! Apparently I'm the
one that needs most of training here. I'm learning
slowly but surely! |
| Beckie, grooming customer, December 2006 |
I just wanted to thank you for the awesome service we received on December 23rd. My dog Mozart came in for his grooming and Brandy did an awesome job. On our last visit to the Stone Mountain Pet Lodge, Mozart did not have the best haircut. I was in touch with Brandy, after his last bad haircut and she said the next appointment should be made with her. She gave Mozart an upgrade service this visit and also a goody bag, when we left. My dog was so happy after his grooming. Brandy did an awesome job and she will see my dog in the future, for his groomings. The goody bag was also very sweet. Thank you for taking such good care of Mozart. He smiled in the car, the whole way home. He knew he looked good. Thank you! |

KC loves Stone Mountain Pet Lodge and all of the staff are great with him. He loves coming to doggie day care there and feels right at home!
All the employees and handle[er]s are courteous and
very prompt. They are great about dropping him off
and do not make me wait long periods of time which
would make me late for work. It's great! |
| Jackie, dog training customer, November 2006 |
| We attended Obedience Level 1 class with Michelle and was very pleased by her style and ability to give us the tools to teach our 3 year old Maltese in basic training. She had a lot of different "tricks up her sleeve" and could easily tell how you needed to move/react differently to get the result you want. She did a great job at leading the class and made it an enjoyable experience - for us and our dog. She was great and I would highly recommend her to anyone who wanted to take their pooch to a training class. |

| Brandy [your grooming salon manager] has found a very nice home, I hope you at SMPL appreciate her as much as Auggie and I do. She does great work, and was done quickly. …I've always been made to feel as if we mattered, were appreciated as individuals, not merely one 'ol dawg among many. Auggie thinks so too. ;) …[Auggie] looks so pretty! I'm always extra proud of him when I get him back from grooming. when he looks his most best. |
| Sarah, lodging customer, September 2006 |
THANK YOU STONE MOUNTAIN PET LODGE! As many of you know, Kena comes in for regular day lodging during the week. She suffers from separation anxiety, but you wouldn't know it when she arrives at SMPL! Kena's usually the first one in the door, and very excited to see her favorite friends who will make her stay enjoyable and fun! The best part is knowing that I can trust the staff at SMPL to take excellent care of Kena while I'm at work. It's a huge relief to not have the added stress of wondering whether or not Kena is happy at home, or barking and chewing things up! |
| Aimee, lodging customer, June 2006 |
Max
("under the covers Max") as I think he's
been dubbed because of his love for blankets, most
notoriously for sleeping under them, was well taken
care of last week. I really appreciated the updates
from staff, and their willingness to encourage him
to go potty outside even though he didn't want to (he
doesn't like the rain). I was worried that he'd just
be another dog there and if he didn't go out when he
had the chance, he'd just be left. But it sounds like
the staff really watched him and came up with creative
ways to get him excited enough to go outside and do
his business!! Thanks for watching him closely and
taking good care of him. |

| I brought my lab in for a bath and I took a guided
tour of your facility. I was assisted by a knowledgeable
associate and I was very impressed with your setup!! |

As with most pet owners, we were nervous about leaving Sully in someone else's care for the first time. All of those trepidations were quickly abolished after Sully's first visit! The entire staff at Stone Mountain is genuine and sincere. We're pretty sure Sully wanted to stay there when we picked him up after his second stay. Hats off to everyone… and Sully says, "Hi"! |

Meow - to the Stone Mt. Staff,
Thanks for taking good care of me after my big surgery last month. Your hugs and attention were awesome. I'm not running or jumping much yet but I'm better each day.

Our dog Blaze has stayed with you now 2 times and the customer service was awesome. Our first stay we didn't realize we needed a kennel shot (we're new comers!) and you took him to our vet for us! That was great!!
Our second stay was just as great- the staff knew who Blaze was and that he was a puppy with energy-they were very helpful when I asked questions about training and directed me to the appropriate sheets and to look on the web site for more information about it.
Blaze is a VIP member and will continue to stay with you as long as he's a member of our family. |

TO: All the wonderful staff at Stone Mountain!
FROM: Boone Dog
RE: "Thanks a Million"
Thank you all for your great care and effort in making Boone's stay a comfortable one. You truly have a state-of-the-art facility, but that's not what made his stay great… your attitude about animals… pets… "our babies" is what made his stay and my leaving him "a good thing". You were very informative, welcoming, flexible and understanding! All these strengths will make you stand apart!
A special thanks to Liz and [Jeanette] — You both impressed the sock[s] off of me with your customer service! Thank you! |
